About Laura

“Laura is one of the most exciting vocalists and writers that I have had the pleasure to work with in the past few years. This girl has funk and soul oozing from every part of her. Her musicality is second to none. She can cut it both live and in the studio. Phenomenal”

-MJ Cole

Laura and The Streets

After touring across the UK and Europe with the band in 2007/8, she continued to appear on every album that followed. Eventually Laura co-wrote and recorded their second single ‘OMG’ from their final album ‘Computers and Blues’ in Spring 2011. Mike Skinner and Laura continued to collaborate and went on to release ‘We Are Go’ which featured in the most popular UK film release of 2011, The Inbetweeners. In December 2014 Mike and Laura went back into the studio to write and record ‘Night Fights’ featured on The Bat Phone single release, with plays from BBC’s vibey 1Xtra station.

“Laura Vane is as potent a songwriter and singer as I’ve come across. Not only does she have the ideas but she communicates them in a high pressure environment with a smile.”

-Mike Skinner
